General Overview: Beta-Alanine Tablets contain Beta-Alanine, a naturally occurring, non-essential amino acid that is instrumental in the synthesis of carnosine in the muscles. Carnosine acts as an intramuscular buffer, combating the decline in muscle pH during high-intensity exercise, thus delaying the onset of neuromuscular fatigue and enhancing performance .
Mechanism of Action: During exercise, the breakdown of glucose results in the production of lactate and hydrogen ions (H+), leading to muscle acidity. Beta-Alanine supplementation increases carnosine levels in muscles by up to 80%, which helps to buffer the H+ ions, reduce muscle acidity, and increase exercise capacity .
