Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with the generic name naproxen and brand names such as Aleve, EC-Naprosyn, Flanax Pain Reliever, Midol Extended Relief, Naprelan, and others. It is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by various conditions like arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, bursitis, gout, or menstrual cramps.
